Adaptation of a stock design
Fitting a catalogue design to a specific plot, local rules and ground conditions, carried out and signed by a licensed architect.
The scope covers the site development plan, adapting foundations to ground conditions, snow and wind load zones, services and the heat source, compliance with the zoning plan or planning decision, and a recalculated energy performance.
How much of the design itself may change follows from the licence attached to the stock design, not from a regulation. Changes to massing, roof geometry or window arrangement usually need the author's consent, sometimes for a fee.
After adaptation the adapting architect is the designer in the case: they sign the documentation and answer for its fit with the location. More in adapting a stock house design.
